With nearly 20 years of practical experience in customs affairs, she is quite familiar with international trade and customs laws, regulations, policies, and practices. She has extensive expertise and field experience in such areas as customs supervision, export control, dutiable value, taxation, tax relief, auditing, AEO certification, processing trade, special sectors, IPR protection, and administrative penalties. She has handled a great number of tax disputes involving tariff classification, customs value, and origin of import & export commodities, as well as major and complex cases related to customs audit and administrative penalties for violation of customs regulations. In addition, she is also skilled in handling criminal cases involving smuggling.
She excels at administrative dispute resolution including administrative penalties, reconsideration, and litigation, and has handled nearly a hundred cases involving automobile, electromechanical, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and many other industries. She is adept at seeking legal procedures and reliefs to solve the disputes between enterprises and government in order to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of her clients.
Work experience
Ms. Zheng joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2018. Prior to joining the firm, she has been engaged in import and export compliance management and Customs legal affairs for about 20 years.
Ms. Zheng received her LL.B. from Sun Yat-sen University, majoring in law, and her LL.M. from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan. She was admitted as a Chinese lawyer in 2004.
