Song Xudong specialises in intellectual property litigation and other commercial dispute resolution.
He is well experienced in trademark, copyright, patent, anti-unfair competition, anti-monopoly, computer software, data and network, trade secret, technology contract, franchise contract, investment and financing contract and other contractual disputes. He has advised clients ranging from central SOEs, large-scale technology companies, internet companies, listed private companies, to well-known overseas enterprises on more than 200 matters. He is skilled in identifying the key issues in complex disputes quickly and provides tailored solutions that align with client’s business strategy, to protect their rights and interests.
Mr. Song's extensive experience covers a wide range of industries including real estate, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, food industry, finance, energy, internet, and automobile. He has handled more than 2,700 intellectual property cases and nearly 400 other civil and commercial cases, many of which were recognised among the Top 10 Innovative Cases of Beijing courts, Guiding Cases of the Year of Beijing Intellectual Property Court, and reference cases or guiding cases of Beijing Higher People’s Court. With profound knowledge of the mindset and operations of courts and arbitration institutions, he provides constructive and practical solutions and advises clients throughout the litigation process.
Mr. Song also serves as Deputy Director of the Competition Law Committee of the Beijing Intellectual Property Law Society, a member of the Trade Secrets Committee of the Patent Protection Association of China, a part-time supervisor of postgraduate students at Beijing Institute of Technology and other universities, and an arbitrator on the panel of several arbitration institutions.
Work Experience
Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons in September 2017, he had engaged in trial practice for nearly 13 years.
Mr. Song obtained his LLB from China University of Mining and Technology and his LLM from Peking University.
His working languages are Chinese and English.
