Areas of practice
Mr. Qin Yugong mainly specializes in intellectual property litigation（including patent infringement, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, and unfair competition disputes）; patent invalidation; patent and trademark administrative lawsuits; IP-related contract lawsuits; Internet-related IP protection; IP transactions and international negotiation; enterprise IP strategy planning and management system construction; operation of intellectual property rights.
Mr. Qin has practiced in the field of intellectual property for a long time at China and abroad, and he has a solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience in IP field. His scope of practice covers not only such contentious IP matters as IP civil and administrative actions, but also non-contentious IP matters including the negotiating, drafting and reviewing of IP-related contracts, advising on IP strategies, drafting and reviewing of enterprise IP management manuals, conducting of IP due diligence, planning for IP operation, IP-Backed Securitization.
Work experience
Mr. Qin joined King & Wood Mallesons as a partner in early 2011. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the IP department of a large company and, also, a law firm in Japan. He also previously served as a project committee member in the Japan Intellectual Property Association. He currently is a visiting professor at the graduate school of Kanazawa Institute of Technology, and a collaborative researcher at Research Center for the Legal System of Intellectual Property in Waseda University in Japan, and also a member of the Professional Committee of Medical Intellectual Property Research of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association.
Mr. Qin graduated with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering from Harbin Engineering University, and Mr. Qin also was awarded a Master's degree and a Doctorate degree in law from Waseda University in Japan. He is admitted as a Chinese attorney-at-law and patent attorney.
Mr. Qin's working languages include Chinese, English, and Japanese.
