BHP: advising in respect of a range of power purchase agreements and other power arrangements across BHP’s Australian operations, including:
- a power purchase agreement for BHP’s Port Hedland iron ore operations, which includes offtake from the planned Port Hedland 45MW solar farm and 35MW battery
- the development of the 27.4MW Mt Keith Solar Farm, 10.7MW Leinster Solar Farm and 10.1MW Leinster battery energy storage system to supply the Nickel West operations
- power purchase agreements for the offtake of energy and LGCs from Merredin Solar Farm and Flat Rocks Wind Farm to supply the Nickel West operations
- a power purchase agreement with Neoen for the supply of power from the Goyder Wind Farm and Blyth BESS to BHP’s Olympic Dam operations in South Australia
- renewable electricity supply agreements with CleanCo for the supply of renewable power to BHP’s BMA coal operations.
Australian Energy Market Commission: on the Improvement security frameworks for the energy transition rule change in respect of the National Electricity Rules.
Energy Policy WA: on amendments to the WA Electricity Networks Access Code and Metering Code, including introducing constrained access in the network, facilitating distributed energy resources and other new technologies (including changes relating to the Whole of System Plan), maximising utilisation of the network and amendments to the access arrangement process.
Woodside Energy: on the sale of a minority interest in the US$16 billion Scarborough LNG project to each of LNG Japan and JERA.
Newmont Corporation: advising Newmont Corporation on the US$800 million sale of its 50% interest in the WA Super Pit gold mine and associated assets to Northern Star Resources Limited.
Zenith Energy: advising on the development of an 88MW wind and solar plant to supply renewable power to the Bellevue Gold Project.
Lynas Rare Earths: advising on contracts for the development of a 65MW hybrid power station at Lynas’s Mt Weld mine.
AGL: advising AGL Energy in relation to its $93 million acquisition of Perth Energy, a WA electricity and gas retailer and electricity generator.
