Aisling manages and resolves complex disputes for clients in the building, construction, infrastructure, energy and resources sectors across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. With over 10 years experience in the delivery of major projects, her recent matters include acting for principals, contractors and financiers in all forms of dispute resolution for PPPs, renewable and offshore / onshore gas project disputes.​

Aisling’s commercial mindset, responsiveness, and collaborative approach make her a go-to partner for project teams managing challenging and complex projects. Aisling’s approach is to proactively address issues throughout the project lifecycle, providing strategic advice on claims management.​

As a construction specialist, Aisling regularly engages engineering experts and has a deep understanding of the commercial, legal and technical challenges facing major projects. In addition to claims between project parties, she regularly acts in matters involving insurance policies applicable to major projects, and in responding to insolvency issues when they arise on major projects. Aisling also assists her clients in navigating the regulatory landscape for energy, infrastructure, and building clients (including prequalification, licencing, procurement policy, the regulation of the NEM, and responses to regulatory action).

Aisling’s experience includes:

  • Acting for a Korean Shipbuilding Contractor in a Singaporean-seated (ICC Rules) arbitration regarding work performed on the Ichthys Project​
  • Acting for a Tier 1 Contractor in relation to disputes arising out of the Transmission Gully PPP including proceedings against its design consultant in the High Court of New Zealand​
  • Acting for leading infrastructure funds as sponsors on a number of wind and solar projects across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria include downstream disputes, security of payment, third party interfaces and commissioning issues​
  • Acting for the O&M Contractor in relation to disputes arising out of the Toowoomba Bypass Project including in respect of claims for defective and failed embankments and cuttings​
  • Acting for a major Network Operator in Supreme Court of New South Wales proceedings concerning the termination of certain contracts for solar projects in New South Wales​
  • Acting for the Liquidators of Ostwald Bros in New South Wales Court of Appeal Proceedings in relation to certain payment disputes between a civil works subcontractor and head contractor arising out of the Pacific Highway Upgrade Project
