Ms. Zhang Xiaolian is specialized in foreign direct investment in China, M&A, general corporate, outbound investment of Chinese enterprises, infrastructure, investment in distressed assets and non-performing loans.
Ms. Zhang has provided legal services to many domestic and foreign clients in their investments (green field/M&A) and operations in China, covering industries range from toll roads, bridges, water plant, water treatment plants, metro, LNG, telecommunications, automobiles, commercial and franchise, pharmaceuticals, health industry, art and sports, internet, high-tech etc..
Ms. Zhang has assisted Chinese enterprises in their investment in the United States and Europe, covering industries including automobile, general aviation and high-tech etc..
Ms. Zhang has assisted banks, asset management companies and domestic and foreign investors in dozens of NPL deals.
In 2015 and 2016, Ms. Zhang has been ranked as one of the Leading Individuals in the field of project and energy in China by Legal 500 in its 2016 and 2017 Asia Pacific rankings. In 2017 to 2021, Ms. Zhang was ranked as a Leading Lawyer in energy & infrastructure by IFLR1000 and was selected into the experts pool of the Ministry of Finance's China Public Private Partnerships Center (CPPPC).
Work experience
Ms. Zhang Xiaolian joined King & Wood Mallesons in 1994.
She obtained her LL.B. from Peking University and was admitted as a Chinese lawyer in 1999.
She is proficient in Chinese and English.
