Mr. Zhang Tiandi specializes in M&As, restructuring, outbound investment, FDI, overseas bond financing and other aspects of the corporate and commercial law.
Mr. Zhang has extensive experience in M&As and cross-border investment. He has represented many large state-owned enterprises, domestic and overseas listed enterprises, multinational corporations, private companies and funds in domestic and overseas project investments and cross-border legal affairs. The deals on which he advised cover a wide range of sectors, including high and new technology, new materials, biological pharmaceuticals, medical device & healthcare products, education, infrastructure (public transportation, water supplies, highways and ports), real state, energy, logistics and retail. Mr. Zhang has served as a lead counsel in assisting clients in cross-border M&As. He is experienced in managing the overall process of cross-border transactions, preparing legal documents in both Chinese and English, and negotiating legal and business affairs. He has closely collaborated with overseas teams in providing clients with a full range of quality cross-border legal services.

A state-owned investment platform on the establishment of a joint venture company of investment platform with the government agencies and state-owned enterprises of a Belt and Road country;

Hutchison Whampoa Limited on more than 20 M&A, restructuring and investment deals in respect of container terminals and bulk cargo terminals in Shenzhen Yantian, Xiamen, Zhuhai, Huizhou, Shantou and other ports over the last more than a decade;

A number of famous domestic and overseas education groups / funds on a series of investments and acquisitions of preschool education and private college assets.
Mr. Zhang also has expertise in overseas bond financing and has advised a large number of state-owned investment platforms and renowned real estate groups on a series of overseas bond financing projects.
In addition, Mr. Zhang serves as a regular counsel for leading enterprises in various industries and advises them on daily business decision-making and operations, internal policies and other aspects.

Mr. Zhang joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2002.
He received his LL.B. degree from Peking University and his LL.M. degree from the University of Melbourne.
