Mr. Wang Lixin has over 20 years' practice experience in the areas of securities, mergers and acquisitions, funds, banking, real estate, venture capital, government projects and the internet.

Mr. Wang Lixin has been involved in a number of remarkable projects such as initial public offerings (both A-share and H-share), overseas red chips restructuring and listing, M&A financing, reorganization and acquisition of listed companies, cross-border bond issuance and refinancing, fund formation and investment projects. The projects he advised on cover a wide range of industry areas, including finance, energy and mineral resources, aviation, real estate, telecommunications and the internet, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture and forestry, food, retail, service business, and cultural industry.

Some of those key and significant M&A transactions that Mr. Wang led include the Guangdong Development Bank's Restructuring and New Shares Issuing to Strategic Investors (the world's biggest financial institution M&A transaction in 2006), the Kaisa Group Holdings' Restructuring Project (the world's first Cross-Default case in 2015), Guangzhou Donghua Enterprise's Acquisition of its controlling shareholder's real property business (the transaction amount reaches RMB 4.3 billion yuan), Qingdao East Steel Towel's Acquisition of the biggest Potash mines in Laos  (obtain 140.96 sq.km of Potash mines and 0.216 billion tons of potassium chloride resources), Evergrande Real Estate Group's Acquisition of China Calxon Group's equity (the first time for China Evergrande Group to obtain A shares financing platform), Evergrande Group's Acquisition of Shengjing Bank's equity (China Evergrande Group is authorized to be the first majority shareholder), and China Evergrande Group's onshore and offshore diversified bonds issuance (e.g. the offshore issuance of an aggregate of US$ 9.1 billion bonds in 2017). Mr. Wang is advising on two ongoing historic projects, one is Baoneng Holdings (China)'s Acquisition of China Vanke, the other is Evergrande Real Estate Group's Restructuring in Chinese Capital Market.

Mr. Wang was awarded a world's leading corporate and M&A practitioner by Chambers Global – the World's Leading Lawyers for Business in 2009. Chambers has given high appraisal to Mr. Wang's prominent performance, indicating that he offers clients with "explicit commercial viewpoints and excellent communication skills". Mr. Wang won this award for a second time in 2011. He was awarded a leading corporate and M&A practitioner by Chambers Asia Pacific – the Asia Pacific's Leading Lawyers for Business for six consecutive years since 2012 to now. In 2018, Mr. Wang was awarded Dealmaker of the Year - China by Asian Legal Business (ALB). In addition, Mr. Wang is also recognized by Who's Who Legal and a number of prestigious legal publications. Based on his profound theoretical knowledge and extensive practical experience, Mr. Wang has won the second prize of the annual "Theory Achievement Award" in 2008 and the first prize of the annual "Theory Achievement Award" in 2012 by Guangzhou Lawyers Association.

Mr. Wang has published the book with title of "Practice Guidance: Reorganization, Acquisition and Listing of Commercial Banks" by Peking University Press, and he has also published a number of articles in publications such as China Capital Market.

Work experience

Mr. Wang joined King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) in 2002. Currently, he is a member of KWM's Management Committee and the Managing Partner of KWM's Guangzhou office. Prior to that, Mr. Wang worked for two renowned domestic law firms as lawyer and partner respectively.

Mr. Wang obtained his LL.B from Nankai University. He received his graduate diploma in International Finance from the China Academy of Social Sciences. He was admitted to practice in the PRC in 1992.
