Mr. Lingyun Liu specializes in dispute resolution with a focus on domestic civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, as well as criminal and administrative procedure. Mr. Liu has extensive experience in dispute resolution in relation to corporate, securities and other practice areas.
Mr. Liu has represented multiple well-known companies on their dispute cases in relation to M&A, reorganization, governance and regulation and a number of major dispute cases in relation to illegal information disclosure, insider trading, market manipulation and illegal operation in securities and futures. A trust and investment company in relation to a loan guarantee contract disputes, represented by Mr. Liu, was recorded in Civil Trial Guidance and Reference by Supreme Court.
In addition, Mr. Liu acted as the defender for a Chairman and CEO of a securities company, whom was suspected of economic crime and then was found not guilty for a charge and was exempted from criminal penalty for another charge. Mr. Liu has also represented a number of influential cases, including the Prime Lot of the Bund in Shanghai in relation to its equity and debt contract disputes and Everbright Securities' fat finger trade serial cases.
In 2016, Mr. Liu has been recognized by ALB as one of the 2016 Top 15 Litigators.
Work experience
Lingyun Liu joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2008. Prior to that, he was a founding partner of Shandong Mingfeng Law Firm and a partner at Shandong Deheng Law Firm.
Mr. Liu graduated from Lanzhou Technological University and obtained an LL.M. from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Mr. Liu received his practice license in 1996. He is proficient in Chinese and English.
