Mr. Lin Jiuchu specializes in trademark, copyright and domain name with respect to Intellectual Property.
His trademark expertise ranges from applications for registration to every practical area, including: trademark due diligence, trademark strategic planning, trademark prosecution and protection, trademark search and monitoring, trademark assignment, licensing and renewal. He represents clients in trademark oppositions, invalidations, cancellations, reviews on refusal of trademark applications, applications for recognition of trademarks as well-known, trademark-related administrative proceedings, domain name registrations, domain name dispute resolution and other trademark-related matters.
Mr. Lin is familiar with the procedures and practices of the Chinese trademark authorities. He has handled a large number of trademark cases and is extensively experienced in trademark practice in China. Mr. Lin represents a large number of clients from various fields including fashion, medical, cosmetics, electronic, machinery, education, chemical, automobile, food, beverage, retail, finance and insurance. Mr. Lin handled and won large number of trademark opposition and invalidation cases, and had some international brands recognized as well-known trademarks in China.
Work Experience
Mr. Lin Jiuchu joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2005. Prior to joining our firm, he had worked as a trademark attorney with CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office since 1994. In addition, he has also worked as a teacher at a local college.
He earned a B.A. degree in English language and literature from Beijing Normal University, a Master of Laws in Demography from the Institute of Population Research of Peking University, and another Master of Laws from the Law School of Peking University. He was admitted as a trademark attorney in 1995 and as a Chinese lawyer in 2002.
Mr. Lin is proficient in Chinese and English.
