Junichi Yamazaki specializes in intellectual property rights, international transactions, corporate law, civil litigation and international arbitration and ADR.
With respect to the intellectual property law area, he provides extensive services for his clients including representation in numerous infringement litigations and invalidity proceedings involving patents and other IPs and in negotiations with domestic and overseas counterparty for license and technical tie-up agreements. The technologies having been involved include machine tools, electric-electronic devices, communication systems, broadcasting, software, printing, civil engineering and construction, chemical products, food, cosmetics. He also has ample experience in copyright and moral rights issues primarily in software, music and cinematographic works as well as performer’s rights.
He also serves as retained counsel for not only listed companies but also small-and-medium start-up companies and renders regular legal services such as counselling and drafting contracts and other legal documents.
In international arbitration, He serves as chair arbitrator, party-appointed arbitrator and institution-appointed sole arbitrator in ICC and JCAA arbitrations.
