Eveline specialises in Australia's foreign investment regime and is a senior member of King & Wood Mallesons’ dedicated foreign investment team – advising across all sectors, including national security. She advises on the application of the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975 and Australia's Foreign Investment Policy and the impact of the Australian foreign investment regime on proposed investments into Australia and offshore transactions with underlying Australian assets.

Eveline advises on, and assists with, navigating the complex Australian foreign investment regime and FIRB assessment process, including:

  • pre-investment strategy and considerations
  • the application and assessment process with the Australian Government
  • managing the application process with the Foreign Investment Division of the Commonwealth Treasury, and
  • assisting with ongoing compliance and reporting obligations following completion of the transaction. 

Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons, Eveline worked at the Commonwealth Treasury and Department of Home Affairs, advising the Treasurer and the Minister for Home Affairs on the foreign investment and security of critical infrastructure regimes. 

Eveline was recognised in the Global Competition Review’s Foreign Investment Control 40 under 40 list in 2023, being one of only four Australian foreign investment lawyers recognised in the inaugural edition.
