“2023 saw some very significant deals announced. They reflect a trend in cross-border activity (predominantly from USA and Japan based bidders) and a deal-making surge in the Energy, Resources and Mining sectors. These remarkable results could not have been achieved without our clients’ trust - to deliver on the largest deals in the Asia Pacific.”
Further commenting on the results M&A Practice Co-Leader David Eliakim said:
“Our M&A team was delighted to be involved in the major, noteworthy deals of 2023 including the completion of Newmont’s A$26B acquisition of Newcrest – Australia’s biggest M&A deal last year - and Allkem’s merger with Livent Corp. We see a strong pipeline of dealmaking in the year ahead.
We’ll be speaking more about the year ahead for M&A – stay tuned for our 2024 M&A in the City publication coming soon.”
