Zoe specialises in complex restructures, corporate workouts and insolvency. She has experience advising companies, insolvency practitioners, and both secured and unsecured creditors in distressed situations, across various sectors including energy, construction, mining and infrastructure.

Her recent matter highlights include:

  • Qenos: advising a strategic buyer on all aspects of the acquisition and controlled restructuring and shutdown of the Qenos Group of companies operating Australia’s only polythene (plastics) business on real property sites in Botany, NSW and Altona, Victoria.
  • Kwinana: advising Avertas Energy on the Kwinana Waste to Energy Project creditors’ scheme of arrangement involving the acquisition of debt and transfer of ownership of the Project to the EPC Contractor.
  • Basslink: advising the receivers appointed to this nationally significant piece of infrastructure which transmits electricity between mainland Australia and Tasmania. Receivers were appointed to the Basslink group by lenders with over A$600m of secured debt commitments. The asset was sold through a sophisticated debt-for-equity swap transaction.
  • SunCable: advising the Northern Territory Government on the administration and sale of SunCable, with the ambitious renewables project known as the Australia-Asia Power Link.
  • Disability Services Australia: advising this NDIS provider on its financial position, and subsequent administration and recapitalisation. The transaction achieved a 100% return to creditors and no disruption to its important services provided to more than 1,700 participants.
  • EncoreFX: advising the administrators and liquidators of EncoreFX on all aspects of the external administration including landmark Federal Court directions proceedings which clarified the application of certain client money provisions in the Corporations Act.

Zoe is currently the Vice Chair of the New South Wales Turnaround Management Association NextGen Committee. In 2024, Zoe was the winner of the Houlihan Lokey-TMA Network of Women International Scholarship where she travelled to TMA Global’s Distressed Investing Conference in Las Vegas.
