Areas of practice

Mr. Zhang Ruji specializes in corporate matters, foreign direct investment in China, finance, and securities.

With respect to corporate matters, Mr. Zhang has represented and provided a variety of legal services to state-owned enterprises, privately-owned enterprises, and high-tech companies in various transactions; including reorganization, mergers and acquisitions, and IPOs on domestic and overseas stock markets. In addition, he also serves as legal counsel to a number of state-owned enterprises, foreign-invested companies, and high-tech enterprises. He has extensive experience in foreign direct investment in China and has handled a number of transactions by investors, venture capitalists, and investment banks from the U.S.A., Europe, and China Hong Kong SAR. Mr. Zhang also provides counsel to numerous international banks in China.

Work experience

Mr. Zhang Ruji joined King & Wood Mallesons in 1995. Prior to this, he worked at the Inner Mongolia Economic Law Office, Norton Rose LLP, and Johnson, Stoke & Master in Hong Kong.

He received his LL.B. from the China University of Political Science and Law, and Diploma from the School of Oriental and African Studies, the University of London. He was admitted as Chinese lawyer in 1988.

Mr. Zhang is proficient in Chinese and English.
