Ms. Wang Ling is the Managing Partner of King & Wood Mallesons (China). She specializes in banking, international finance, project finance, aircraft and equipment lease financing, acquisition finance, and real estate finance.

She has extensive experience in banking and financial services, which includes general banking business, compliance reviews, syndicated loans, trade finance, project finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance, and debt restructuring. She has considerable experience in project finance and has participated or led her team in the financing of many infrastructure and energy projects involving power plants, toll roads, water plants, bridges, chemicals and petrochemicals, among others. Her work in project finance includes structuring projects, conducting due diligence investigations, participating in negotiations, drafting project documentation, providing legal opinions, and conducting relevant governmental procedures.

As one of the few outstanding Chinese lawyers in the area of aviation, Ms. Wang specializes in aircraft and equipment leasing. She has rich experience in a wide variety of aircraft and equipment leasing transactions and has handled a great number of aircraft transactions for many well-known multi-national clients.

Ms. Wang has led her team in establishment projects for many financial institutions, including foreign-invested banks as legal entities in China; foreign-invested auto-finance companies; foreign-invested finance companies; and, financial leasing companies, accumulating a wealth of experience in this field.

Work Experience

Ms. Wang Ling joined King & Wood Mallesons in 1995. Prior to joining our firm, she was head of the Department of International Finance at the China Global Law Office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

She received her B.A. from the Central Institute of Finance and Banking (currently known as the Central University of Finance and Economics), and her LL.M. from Duke University Law School. She was admitted as a Chinese lawyer in 1988. She is proficient in Chinese and English.

Ms. Wang is highly-renowned and reputed in all the aforementioned areas and has been awarded or ranked many times by a number of prestigious legal publications as an outstanding Chinese lawyer in international finance and aircraft leasing.
