Shi Liufang primarily practices in the fields of equity investment, corporate governance, partnership enterprise governance, funds, securities, trusts, contracts, and guarantees, providing legal consultation and handling civil and commercial litigation/arbitration.
Shi Liufang has conducted continuous and in-depth research in the field of corporate law and has gained recognition in practice, having a certain influence nationwide, including two Guiding Cases of the Supreme People’s Court:
Shi Liufang handled and authored two corporate law cases that were discussed by the Judicial Committee of the Supreme People’s Court. These cases were published as guiding cases nationwide (Case No. 8 and Case No. 15). They have become unified judicial standards for relevant legal issues.
Remarkably, Shi Liufang is the only individual associated with two guiding cases. Among these, Case No. 15 involves the horizontal legal personality denial system for related companies, which filling a legal gap. Since its promulgation, its judicial application rate has consistently ranked second among all guiding cases. Furthermore, it has been explicitly incorporated as a new system in the 2024 revised Company Law.

Shi Liufang is particularly skilled at dealing with complex and comprehensive corporate disputes related to control rights.
In addition to corporate law, Shi Liufang has extensive experience in the following areas:
Securities, funds, trusts, asset management, and financial derivatives: She has handled various securities disputes, including those related to securities misrepresentation liability, corporate bond trading, pledged securities repurchase, and margin trading and securities lending. Her representation in large-scale financial derivative transactions was selected as one of the “Top 10 Commercial Cases in China’s Courts in 2020” by the Supreme People’s Court.
Contract law: She has a solid foundation and rich experience in handling complex contract disputes, including disputes related to contract validity, breach of contract, and contract termination.
Guarantees, construction projects, EPC turnkey projects, real estate, and infrastructure investment and development: She also has extensive experience in dispute resolution in these other fields.
She has achieved recognition as a “Recommended Lawyer” in the annual Asia-Pacific rankings by the prestigious legal rating agency The Legal 500.
Shi Liufang currently serves as an arbitrator for the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and arbitration committees in Nanjing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Wuxi, and Xi’an. Additionally, she is a council member of the Commercial Law Research Association and the Banking Law Research Association of the China Law Society, and an expert consultant for the Legal Affairs Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee.
Work experience
Shi Liufang joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2017. Before joining King & Wood Mallesons, Shi Liufang has worded in the field of judicial practice for nearly twenty years.
Shi Liufang holds a Master of Laws degree from Nanjing University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Southeast University.
