Richard Nie specializes in private equity/venture capital, M&A, corporate governance, and capital market.
With over 20 years of experience, Richard has assisted domestic and overseas private equity and venture capital firms in their investments in various sectors in China, including highly regulated financial services, telecom, media, Internet, entertainment, education, biotech, and high-tech. He has advised fast-growing companies on their incorporation, IPO, sales of business, and merger, as well as on their financing, acquisition, corporate governance, stock incentive plan, and restructuring.
He has also advised many leading companies on their domestic and overseas M&A. He regularly assists multinationals in their operation, M&A, joint venture, and other transactional matters in China.
He has recently received the following awards:

Work experience
Mr. Nie joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2006. Prior to this, he was a partner with a leading Shanghai law firm.
He earned his LL.B. and LL.M. from the Law School of Xiamen University and a second LL.M. from Columbia Law School. Mr. Nie was admitted as a Chinese lawyer in 1997.
His working languages are Chinese and English.
