Areas of practice
Ms. Xiaoping Liu specializes in corporate, M&A and private equity. She is experienced in cross-border merger and acquisitions, outbound investment, foreign direct investment in the PRC and joint ventures.
She regularly advises MNCs, PRC companies and PE funds on complicated cross-border M&A transactions and investments in a number of sectors, including automobile, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, commodities, energy, TMT and commercial real estate. She also advises MNCs as well as domestic group companies on compliance and general corporate matters in their daily operations.
Ms. Liu has also advised considerable state-owned enterprises, private companies and listed companies in outbound investments, and provided legal support for PRC companies’ overseas business planning and operations in multi-jurisdictions.
Ms. Liu has been recommended for China Corporate M&A by Legal 500 in 2023, and was enlisted as “Rising Star” in 2024.
Work experience
Mrs Liu joined King & Wood Mallesons in2012.
Mrs Liu received her Bachelor of Laws in International Politics and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Peking University, and Juris Doctor (American Law) and Juris Master (Chinese Law) degrees from Peking University School of Transnational Law.
Mrs Liu is qualified in China. Her working languages are Chinese and English.
