Mr. Li Tianren specialises in domestic and cross-border commercial litigation and arbitration.

Mr. Li has broad experience in advising on product liability and consumer rights and interests, especially on the operations and product business of automotive enterprises. He has counselled well-known auto manufacturers on disputes over product liability, consumer rights and interests, business contracts, and tort liability.

He also has extensive experience in litigating and arbitrating disputes over financial institutions, corporate matters, and commercial contracts. He has assisted renowned domestic and international financial institutions, companies, and multinational corporations in resolving disputes involving financing and lending, shareholding, company operations, trade contracts, and liquidation and reorganisation.

Mr. Li has represented clients in domestic and overseas litigation and arbitration proceedings before Chinese courts at various levels and major arbitral institutions, including China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC), Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (SHIAC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).

Work experience

Mr. Li joined King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) in 2015. Prior to joining KWM, he worked at the headquarters of a state-owned export credit insurance company.

Mr. Li obtained his LLB degree from China University of Political Science and Law and his LLM degree from University of Southern California Gould School of Law. 

Mr. Li is qualified to practise law in the PRC and the State of New York, the U.S.

His working languages are Chinese and English.
