Kendall is a trusted adviser practicing in a wide range of administrative law, public law and commercial disputes. She acts and appears for government, corporations and the not-for-profit sector on often precedentially significant matters, including statutory interpretation, internal review, merits review and judicial review.
Kendall specialises in administrative law decision making and review proceedings under the Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1977 and Judiciary Act 1903, Freedom of Information law, and Anti-Dumping / trade law under Part XVB of the Customs Act 1901. She has also advised witnesses appearing in multiple Royal Commissions.
Kendall regularly provides training to statutory appointees about defensible decision making, and on access to information across jurisdictions, including under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. - Anti-Dumping Review Panel: Advising the Review Panel on a technically complex judicial review application before the Federal Court of Australia. Additionally, advising the Review Panel on statutory interpretation and limited merits review proceedings.
- Business Council of Australia: Advising a member of the Business Council of Australia to prepare detailed submissions to government about very significant regulatory and legislative reform.
- Australia Radioactive Waste Agency: Advising the Minister in a high profile judicial review application before the Federal Court of Australia in respect of the decision to declare a site as the site for the national radioactive waste management facility.
- Royal Commissions: Solicitor Assisting the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide and advising individuals appearing before the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme.
- Telstra Corporation Limited: Advising Telstra on various requests for access to confidential and commercially valuable contracts held by government before both the Australian Information Commissioner and Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
- National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator: Developing and delivering a bespoke training package on administrative law decision making under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006.
