Hu Zhe specialises in structure finance, securitisation, syndication, loan & credit facility, M&A of financial institutions, real estate finance and tax.
Mr. Hu has been practicing in China since 2004 and has extensive experience in advising major international commercial banks, investment banks, assets managers, hedge funds, private equity funds, developers and sponsors on China related projects, M&A transactions, structured finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance, financial institution acquisition, distressed debts and workout and other domestic or cross-border matters.
Mr. Hu has advised a number of banks, auto finance companies, and financial companies in their asset-backed securitisation transactions. Baoxin Leasing No.1 Securitisation Project and Bocom Leasing 2014-1 Securitisation Project undertaken by Mr. Hu were named among “Top 10 Transactions of the Year” by China Securitisation Forum 2015 Annual Awards.
The RMB800 million Hangzhou Jinjiang pre-payment finance project led by Mr. Hu won the best deal of the year 2010 award granted by the Global Trade Review. This transaction was also awarded Deal of the Year 2010 Award from Trade Finance and Trade & Forfaiting Review, separately.
In February 2013, Mr. Hu advised Deutsche Bank (China) Co., Ltd. and its consortium on a three-year RMB 1.47 billion dual currency aluminum pre-sale syndicated loan supporting Chiping Xinfa Group’s subsidiaries, Xinjiang Nongliushi Aluminum Co., Ltd. and Chiping Xinfa Huayu Alumina Co., Ltd. This deal was the largest of its kind in the aluminum industry in 2013, and was recognised as the “Deal of the Year 2013 (China)” by Trade & Forfaiting Review.
Work Experience
Mr. Hu joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2007. Before joining King & Wood Mallesons, he worked with a Japanese financial group as in-house legal counsel.
Mr. Hu received his LLB from Fudan University.
Mr. Hu is also having qualifications of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CTA (Certificated Tax Advisor) and CPV (Certified Public Valuer).
Mr. Hu's working languages are Chinese and English.
