Ms. Qiu specializes in banking and finance, focusing on general banking business, project financing, M&A financing, structured financing, real estate financing, disposal and restructuring of non-performing assets, trade financing, domestic and international syndicated loans, asset financing (including aircraft and ship financing), financial leasing, foreign exchange and financial derivatives etc.
Ms. Qiu has represented domestic and international banks, syndicates, state-owned enterprises, joint ventures, project companies and other clients in a number of project financings and the "Belt and Road" projects, involving industries including wind power, thermal power, photovoltaics, mining, and manufacturing. She also has a wealth of experience in cross-border M&A financing, export credit, and asset financing. She has advised a number of policy banks, commercial banks and project companies and received wide recognition from them. She mainly represents her clients in structuring the transaction, drafting and reviewing financing and transaction documents, reviewing relevant project contracts, conducting due diligence, negotiating and issuing legal opinions.
In terms of disposal and restructuring of cross-border non-performing assets, Ms. Qiu has been involved in numerous acquisition and transfer of cross-border non-performing assets, cross-border debt restructuring and bulk transfer of cross-border non-performing assets of state-owned banks. She has accumulated substantial experience in various types of projects.
Work Experience
Before joining King & Wood Mallesons in 2012, Ms. Qiu has successively worked as a judge at a primary People's Court and an in-house counsel in a well-known Fortune 500 Japanese company.
She received her LLB and BA from South China University of Technology in 2002.
She is fluent in English, and is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese.
