Nicola is a competition and regulatory lawyer specialising in advising clients that are subject to complex economic regulation. She regularly advises clients on competition regulatory investigations, prospective mergers, competition law risk such as cartel conduct and proposed regulatory reforms.

Nicola is a trusted adviser to clients across a range of industry sectors including the telecommunications, gas, electricity, water, airports, sea ports and financial services industries. As a former senior inhouse lawyer and technology lawyer, she also brings a commercially focused approach and is experienced in identifying and resolving key strategic issues for executives in tight timeframes.

Nicola has acted extensively on a wide variety of telecommunications matters. She has advised on the Telecommunications Act and its related legislation, facilities access and other telecommunications service access arrangements (including the declared services regime). Nicola has a deep understanding of the telecommunications regulatory framework in Australia, including telecommunications consumer protection focused regulation and has acted on some of the largest telecommunications transactions (including involving Telstra’s recent corporate restructure, advising an investment fund in relation to its proposed acquisition of a major Australian publicly listed telecommunications company and regulation applying to the nbn).
