Mr. Gan specialises in criminal compliance, criminal defence and corporate risk management.
Mr. Gan focuses on providing legal services in segmented criminal cases, with considerable experience in occupational crime, financial crime, securities crime, intellectual property crime, tax and environmental crime, and crime committed by listed companies. He has represented many large state-owned enterprises, listed companies, and entrepreneurs in segmented criminal cases.
Some typical cases handled by Mr. Gan:
Compliance management and crisis response: advised a large automobile company on compliance and crisis response involving criminal matters; advised on comprehensive crisis response to the “12.1” major fire accident in Tianjin; and counselled a listed company on response to crisis involving explosion accidents.
Criminal defence: handled cases involving bribery to a non-governmental official by a GSK executive; suspected misappropriation of funds and bill fraud by an employee of a large state-owned bank; and high-value contract fraud by a large bank.
Criminal reporting and legal representation for victims in lawsuits: advised a large state-owned petrochemical enterprise on reporting and investigation of trade secrets infringement;
International criminal judicial assistance: assisted a state-owned bank in responding to a criminal investigation into overseas anti-money laundering.
Mr. Gan is the Deputy Secretary General of the Beijing Society of Criminology.
In 2022, Mr. Gan was recognised as a “Highly Recommended Lawyer” in the field of Regulation/Compliance by The Legal 500.

Mr. Gan joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2010.
He graduated from Southwest University of Political Science & Law and China University of Political Science and Law, receiving his LL.B., LL.M. and J.D. respectively.
