Mr. Feng specializes in patent prosecution, invalidation and litigation and software copyright litigation.

He has a wealth of experience in the field of intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on computer engineering, software, hardware, telecommunications, semiconductors, household appliances and medical devices. Mr. Feng advises clients on relevant IP issues, IP policies and the implementation of strategies, patent searches and analysis, patent validity research and analysis, risk assessments, and IP due diligence.

Working experience

Mr. Feng initially joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2001. He is one of the founding partners of IP group at King & Wood Mallesons. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced as a patent agent and attorney-at-law at a large Chinese intellectual property law firm for eight years. He has also worked at one of the largest U.S. intellectual property law firms for two years.

Mr. Feng graduated with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering, both in computer applications, from Beijing Institute of Technology. He also gained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in American Law, an intellectual property concentration certificate, and an outstanding achievement award from Boston University School of Law, and a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA - High Honors) from Boston University Questrom School of Business. Mr. Feng was admitted as a Chinese patent agent and Chinese attorney-at-law in 1994 and 1999, respectively. He was qualified as a Chinese trademark agent in 2000. He was admitted to practice before the USPTO with limited recognition in 2008.

Mr. Feng authored Drafting Patent Applications in Electrical Fields (SIPO Intellectual Property Publishing House 2007).

Mr. Feng participated in drafting the textbooks for SIPO patent agent practical skills training. He contributed on teaching as well as teacher training.
