Overview
China’s ambitious Greater Bay Area (GBA) initiative, linking nine PRC cities, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, is predicted to become the world’s largest “bay area” economy by 2030, and is estimated to bring opportunities that require cross-jurisdictional experience.
As part of our commitment to help clients with their business ambitions in the GBA and beyond, we established the King & Wood Mallesons International Center (KWM IC) in 2018, integrating the firm’s international network and leveraging our regional strength with our Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou offices which are key cities in the GBA.
We launched the award-winning two-year Propel program, the first GBA-focused international graduate recruitment program in order to capture elite candidates with PRC and international exposure and aspirations. Our Propel program was commended by the Financial Times for providing "dual-jurisdictional exposure" and "creating a viable route to qualification in Hong Kong for mainland Chinese students.", in the category of Managing and Developing Talent, Financial Times Asia Pacific Innovative Lawyers Report 2019.
