King & Wood Mallesons is delighted to announce the expansion of its Hong Kong partnership to 29 with the promotion of Jingjing Jiang to partner from 1 January, and the re-joining of Donovan Ferguson as partner during the first quarter of this year.
Jingjing has been appointed as a partner for his exceptional role in growing the firm's Funds practice, particularly, in connection with China. Both Hong Kong and PRC law qualified, Jingjing has been with the firm since 2010. As a partner, he will play a pivotal role in ensuring the growth and development of the funds practice, focused on serving Asia clients looking to set up or invest into international funds.
"Promoting lawyers like Jingjing is testament to our firm's ongoing investment in developing the skills, knowledge and experience of our people to ensure our clients, particularly in Asia and with China connections, have access to the market's best talent in the areas they need it most" commented Hong Kong Co-Chief Executive and Funds partner Hayden Flinn.
Donovan Ferguson is a next generation construction lawyer who is no stranger to KWM, having trained in KWM Australia and subsequently worked at KWM Hong Kong between 2005 and 2011. Don specialises in international arbitration and has a regional practice advising clients across a number of different industries. He has particular experience in major construction, resources, infrastructure and contractual disputes.
Paul Starr, head of Dispute Resolution said: "Don's practice and strong client base are complementary to KWM's top tier construction practice both in Hong Kong and across Asia. We are delighted to welcome him back to the firm and have him join the growing Hong Kong partnership."
These two new partnership appointments follow three new partner hires in the Hong Kong office in 2016 – Dispute Resolution and Technology specialist Peter Bullock and IPO specialists Anthony Wan and John Baptist Chan.
