King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is pleased to announce the continued strategic expansion of the Hong Kong office with two lateral counsel hires and the internal promotion of 4 counsels and 6 senior associates.
- James Feng (M&A): James specialises in M&A, with a particular focus on private equity. He represents leading global and regional private equity funds, as well as international market players, in complex cross-border buyout / co-control and corporate finance transactions. His practice encompasses both private and public M&A including take-privates, and Hong Kong Stock Exchange-related transactions. He has over 11 years of experience in the APAC region across Greater China, Australia, India and key Southeast Asia countries, and a wide sector focus which includes healthcare, consumer, infrastructure, energy and TMT. James joined on 17 June.
- Rick Wei (Banking & Finance): Rick specialises in financing transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged and acquisition finance. He represents leading private equity funds, financial institutions, private lenders and corporate borrowers, providing bespoke financing solutions at all levels of the capital structure. He has over 15 years of experience in the Asia-Pacific region, across a wide spectrum of financing products including acquisition finance, back leverage, margin loans, corporate loans, real estate finance and project finance. He is recognised as a “Rising Star” in IFLR1000 (2024). Rick joins on 5 August.
