Global law firm King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is expanding its offering in Singapore with the appointment of M&A partner, Jake Robson. Jake will play a key role in developing the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions practice in the region in addition to the overall growth strategy for the Singapore office.

Jake joins KWM from Morrison & Foerster, where he operated a broad corporate/M&A practice and oversaw their Financial Institutions and Fintech practices in South and Southeast Asia. He has practiced in the region for the last 14 years after commencing his career in London.

Complementing KWM Singapore's focus on cross-border transactions, Jake specialises in international acquisitions, disposals and investments, joint ventures and other complex commercial arrangements. He is a trusted advisor to several FinTech, financial institutions, technology and telecommunications, and resources clients in the region, building a successful practice by capitalising on Singapore's importance as a regional hub in APAC.

KWM Global Chairman, Wang Junfeng said:

"We are delighted to welcome Jake to the partnership and to the team in Singapore. His extensive cross-border experience in the APAC region and particularly in South and Southeast Asia further demonstrates KWM's capability to assist our clients in navigating a range of complex international transactions and our standing as a leading global firm."

Further commenting, Global Chief Executive Partner, Sue Kench said:

"Singapore is a key market for our clients given its role as a financial hub and a gateway for investments in and out of China, Australia, South and Southeast Asia. Jake's track record in building a practice in these regions is aligned to our broader business and market growth strategy, and gives us a more comprehensive platform to support our clients in the region."

This marks the second lateral partner appointment to KWM's Singapore office, following the appointment of Banking & Finance partner John Shum from White & Case in September 2019.
