King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is pleased to announce the continued strategic expansion of the Hong Kong office with two lateral counsel hires and one internal counsel promotion.
- Tony Chow (Restructuring & Insolvency): Tony represents investors, private equity funds, listed companies, insolvency practitioners and financial institutions in complex restructurings, corporate insolvencies, shareholder disputes and cross-border litigation and arbitration. He is a litigator with over a decade of experience advising clients on high-profile financial distress situations and handling “bet the company” disputes. Tony joined on 1 August.
- Winnie Chan (Funds): Winnie advises sponsors, managers, sovereign wealth funds and institutional investors on the structuring, formation and operations of investment funds, as well as fund investments across North America, Europe and Asia. Winnie’s practice also includes advising on co-investments, secondary transactions, carried interest arrangements and fund restructurings. Her experience spans a broad range of sectors including private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, debt, hospitality and health care sectors. Winnie joins on 8 August.
- Connie Wong (Corporate & Securities): Connie represents listed companies, PRC enterprises (both state-owned and private) on cross-border acquisitions and divestments of equity interests and assets, post-IPO public offerings, public investment funds, private equity investments, and complex joint ventures. She also advises on securities regulatory compliance matters and regularly works with regulators. Connie was promoted to Counsel on 1 July.
The above expansion follows the promotion of 13 senior associates in the Hong Kong office on 1 July. The newly promoted Senior Associates include:
