King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised Star Plus Legend Holdings Limited (Star Plus Legend, HK Stock Code: 6683) on its global offering and listing on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK).
Shares of Star Plus Legend were listed on the SEHK on 13 July 2023. Priced at HK$4.25 per share, the global offering comprised a total of 126,640,000 shares and raised approximately HK$538.2 million (subject to exercise of the over-allotment option).
Star Plus Legend is principally engaged in new retail business and intellectual property (IP) creation and operations in China Mainland. The new retail business primarily develops and sells health management products and skincare products through social e-commerce channels.
In the IP creation and operation business, Star Plus Legend creates unique celebrity IPs which include the hugely popular “J-Style Trip” and “ChouMate”. Star Plus Legend also collaborates with celebrities and key opinion leaders to develop their public persona. It also provides media content planning and project management services, planning and investing in large-scale concerts and other celebrity events. Star Plus Legend has established long-term cooperation with Jay Chou and has entered into a 10-year IP Authorization Agreement with JVR Music, Jay Chou’s artiste management company.
The KWM team advised Star Plus Legend on their listing as to Hong Kong law. The team was led by partner John Baptist Chan with support from Carlton Ng, Nathaniel Lau, Elaine Ma and Herman Wong.
