Robert Mayo is an experienced energy and infrastructure lawyer, specialising in project development and financing, joint ventures, private acquisitions and disposals, offtake agreements, commercial contracts and infrastructure and asset sharing arrangements. Rob has worked on large scale energy, oil and gas, resources and infrastructure projects in Australia, Asia, the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Rob's work highlights include:
- supporting clients on all aspects of the development and financing of green energy projects, including large-scale battery storage projects, wind projects (both on-shore and off-shore) and solar projects
- advising on the acquisition and disposal of green energy projects
- acting for clients on all aspects of the development and financing of waste-to-energy plants (including Cory Riverside Energy on its waste-to-energy plant in East London)
- acting for a range of clients on the acquisition and disposal of infrastructure projects (including airports, ports and toll roads)
- advising on all aspects of the development and financing of oil and gas projects (including the Diamantina Power Station in Queensland, the QCLNG project in Queensland, the Rovuma LNG project in Mozambique and the Coral South floating LNG project offshore of Mozambique (the first floating LNG facility to be project financed and winner of PFI African Deal of the Year 2017))
- advising on the acquisition and disposal of oil & gas projects (including advising Eni on its US$2.8bn sale of shares in Mozambique Rovuma Venture S.p.A. to ExxonMobil and Shell (then BG Group) on the A$6bn sale to APA Group of its 543km underground pipeline from the Surat Basin to the QCLNG project)
- advising a range of clients on access regimes, energy regulation and connection agreements
- acting for a range of clients on their offtake and transportation agreements, including PPAs, corporate PPAs, LNG SPAs and other gas transportation and supply agreements
- supporting clients on the strategic restructuring of their businesses
- advising a range of clients on the development and implementation of concession agreements and governance arrangements (including joint venture agreements (both unincorporated and incorporated) and unitisation agreements)
