Peng Ya focuses on litigation and arbitration, with extensive experience in matters concerning capital operation, corporate M&A, corporate investment, financial leasing, finance, real estate and trade.

Ms. Peng has years of experience advising on corporate M&A projects, and has represented clients in disputes regarding corporate M&A and investment. Such experience enabled her to understand from a novel perspective how such disputes can be resolved. She has published relevant articles on those fields.

Ms. Peng has long been following and studying financial products, relevant policies, and laws and regulations. She has represented clients in various significant and complicated financial disputes with important social impact. She has also assisted many financial institutions and companies in the improvement of risk prevention and control system. She has also carried on in-depth and systematical research on new financial products, acquiring rich experience in handling disputes caused by such financial products.

With her legal service experience in real estate investment and financing projects as well as Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects, Ms. Peng has acted for clients in a number of real estate and public infrastructure matters.

Ms. Peng has represented clients before the Supreme People's Court, the people's courts at all levels in various provinces and cities, and major arbitration committees. She knows well about the working methods and adjudicative approaches of these judicial institutions. She takes a holistic approach in resolving disputes based on business objectives.

In addition, Ms. Peng also provides legal advisory services for financial institutions, large SOEs, foreign-funded enterprises and private enterprises.

Ms. Peng was recognized as the 2015 "Rising Star of the Year: Dispute Resolution-Litigation" by China Law & Practice (CLP).

In 2019, Ms. Peng was named as one of the "Top 15 Litigation Lawyers in China 2019" by Asian Legal Business (ALB).

Work experience

Ms. Peng Ya jointed King & Wood Mallesons in 2005.

Ms. Peng Ya obtained her M.A. from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, her Master of Law degree from Peking University Law School , and her B.A. in history from the Department of History at Peking University, and her B.A. in economics from the China Center for Economic Research (CCER) respectively. Ms. Peng Ya was admitted as a Chinese lawyer in 2004.

Ms. Peng Ya is proficient in Chinese and English.
