Areas of Practice 

Michael DeVincenzo has almost twenty years of experience as a trial and appellate lawyer.  

Mr. DeVincenzo has litigated in federal trial and appellate courts across the country and before the International Trade Commission (ITC). His practice has particularly focused on intellectual property litigations including patents, trademarks, copyrights and antitrust matters. Mr. DeVincenzo has worked on numerous high-profile patent litigations involving some of the most respected companies involving a wide range of technologies including practices including financial service industry products, computer hardware and software, circuitry, electronic components, business methods, medical devices, video, audio and telecommunication devices. 

Mr. DeVincenzo has further focused his career on counseling clients with respect to portfolio management, portfolio mining, patent reissues, patent reexaminations, the strategic acquisition and exploitation of intellectual property rights, and the rendering of opinions regarding the validity, scope and enforceability of patents.  

Mr. DeVincenzo has experience in-house as a General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for a high-tech company.  This experience has allowed him to understand and efficiently address the concerns of clients that may arise during the course a representation.

Some recent case related successes include:

• Mr. DeVincenzo argued and secured appellate victory for client PsyberSolutions LLC   at the DC Circuit on issues related to defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

• Mr. DeVincenzo assisted Bell Helicopter Textron Inc.   in obtaining summary judgment in a case against Eurocopter involving claims of patent infringement related to Eurocopter patents directed to helicopter components. 

• Mr. DeVincenzo assisted CardinalCommerce Corp. in obtaining an injunction preventing its competitor, SecureBuy LLC  , from infringing three patents. 

• Mr. DeVincenzo represented Teva in a 25 day trial related to a patent litigation filed by Pfizer relating to Teva's attempt to seek approval to market a generic version of Pfizer's drug VIAGRA®   (sildenafil citrate tablets). The case settled prior to final resolution.

Work Experience

Mr. DeVincenzo joined King &Wood Mallesons in 2020.Prior to joining KWM, Mr. DeVincenzo was a Partner in the Intellectual Property Group of Goodwin Procter LLP and the Legal Director of Mishcon de Reya NY LLP's Intellectual Property Litigation practice group.

Mr. DeVincenzo spent several years as the General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for an advanced semiconductor nanocrystal material company, the semiconductor nanocrystal materials having applications in biotechnology as luminescent markers, solar cells, and electroluminescent devices. 
Mr. DeVincenzo graduated with honors with a Bachelors of Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology.  He also graduated with honors from Fordham University Law School.

Mr. DeVincenzo is admitted to the bar in New York, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the Northern District of Illinois, the Eastern District of Texas and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the DC Circuit.
