Asia’s top-tier international law firm King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has announced the return of Annamarie Rooding, and her appointment to the Australian Partnership.
Annamarie will work as a partner in KWM’s National Employee Relations & Safety Practice and brings back to KWM in-depth legal and practical insights on how boards and senior management navigate complex and sensitive people, conduct matters and implement key elements of people-related governance programs.
Annamarie’s in-house experience is complemented by nearly a decade of private practice that focussed on the legal and governance aspects of key employment law and workplace relations issues. She has also run a successful Incorporated Legal Practice and consulting business, Principled Workplace Consulting.
Commenting on Annamarie’s appointment, Practice Leader, Mergers and Acquisitions, KWM, Rachael Lewis said:
“It’s wonderful to welcome Annamarie back to KWM. Annamarie’s expertise will be invaluable to our clients in the workplace relations space, including navigating the Albanese government’s recent and further upcoming significant employment and industrial relations reforms, and all aspects of establishing and operating an effective, compliant, and sustainable ‘speak up/listen up’ and whistleblowing program.
Our National Employee Relations and Safety practice has expanded and grown significantly in recent times and is going from strength to strength, with Ruth Rosedale recently appointed to the partnership and Angela Weber joining the partnership in 2022.”
Annamarie advises clients in a diverse range of industries including financial services and banks, gaming and entertainment, mining and resources, IT, manufacturing, insurance, property and government.
In a time where board, executive, media and stakeholder focus is sharpening on workplace issues such as employee underpayments, executive renumeration, sexual harassment risk and broader governance issues concerned with people’s behaviour and interactions, KWM’s National Employee Relations and Safety practice remains a critical offering to clients.
Further commenting on Annamarie’s appointment, Chief Executive Partner, Australia, Renae Lattey said:
“I am delighted that Annamarie has returned to KWM. Her blend of private and in-house experience will be invaluable to our clients and will complement and strengthen our existing workplace relations law offering in Australia.”
Prior to returning to KWM, Annamarie held senior legal, business and integrity roles at Tabcorp.
