King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is pleased to announce that Dorothy Murray, Dispute Resolution Partner, has been named in the Legal 500's International Arbitration Powerlist for 2019.
The Legal 500 International Arbitration Powerlist UK, launched on Tuesday at the new International Arbitration Centre highlights the top 200 characters across the UK's law firms and at the Bar. These individuals demonstrate the quality and depth of expertise London offers as a global centre for arbitration.
Dorothy said, 'This is really a recognition for the whole KWM London team. We have quickly made a name for ourselves working on some high profile cases and have had an extremely busy couple of years and some eye-catching results. It is great to see that acknowledged in the market and to be part of the eco-system that makes London a world centre for arbitration. Thanks to everyone who gave the feedback about me which led to my inclusion."
Wang Rongkang, Managing Partner for KWM Europe and Middle East said, 'I am pleased to congratulate Dorothy on this achievement, she is an outstanding lawyer and the driving force behind our highly commended dispute resolution team, while still finding time to lead our CSR programme in London.'
Described by clients as 'exceptional' and 'as tough as nails', and by tribunals as "QC standard" for her advocacy, Dorothy has a thorough knowledge of international commercial and investment disputes helping clients to achieve their objectives regardless of jurisdiction or legal system. As a result of this cross-border proficiency, Dorothy has acted on a rich mix of global cases. She has particular experience acting for clients and in disputes arising from Russia and the CIS, most notably Ukraine, but has acted for clients from all over the world, typically in cases where the dispute has a London seat or nexus, or involves English or public international law. She has considerable expertise working for government and state-owned entity clients and, in-line with KWM's regional focus, is now handling an increasing amount of work for Chinese companies and investors.
Dorothy has experience of managing both arbitration and litigation disputes in common and civil law jurisdictions and under a wide range of arbitral rules, including ICSID, UNCITRAL, LCIA and ICC. She also advises clients in High Court litigation and mediations, often in disputes involving fraud and injunctive relief.
