King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has announced the appointment of two new partners, Glenn Lovell to its Riyadh office (in association with the Law Office of Majed Almarshad) and Gabriel Boghossian to its London office, further strengthening its corporate offering in Europe and the Middle East.
Glenn Lovell brings a wealth of Saudi Arabian experience to the firm with a broad practice base developed over the last eight years in Saudi Arabia that covers Banking & Finance, Corporate Structuring, Corporate Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Government Procurement, Capital Markets and M&A. The strength of Glenn's practice has resulted in him being named as a ranked lawyer in Chambers 2016 where clients have expressed that he is "very switched on, very commercial and understands the workings of Saudi Arabia." Glenn joins from Al Tamimi & Company.
Gabriel Boghossian is an M&A specialist with a particular emphasis on private equity and expertise in relation to secondaries portfolio transactions, having worked on some of the largest secondary transactions in the market. Gabriel joins from Macfarlanes.
Stephen Kon, Senior Partner EUME said, “We are delighted to welcome both Glenn and Gabriel to the firm. The pair are outstanding lawyers who will make a significant contribution to the continued success of King & Wood Mallesons. Their appointments are consistent with our commitment to the focused development of our EUME practice in areas of key strategic importance to the firm. I look forward to making more such announcements in due course.”
Glenn Lovell said, “King & Wood Mallesons was an obvious choice for me as I look to further develop my client base in the Middle East and globally. No other firm can offer such an appealing combination of true local depth and global strength – a market-leader poised for even greater success. As a former lawyer of legacy firm Mallesons, this feels like coming home and I’m looking forward to working with some old friends as well as my many new colleagues around the world.”
Gabriel Boghossian said, ” I am delighted to be joining King & Wood Mallesons; not only is KWM a distinguished global law firm, it has tremendous depth in the private equity industry and a renowned secondaries team, both of which complement my practice very well. Having acted opposite the KWM private equity team on a number of transactions over the years, I am very much looking forward to working with them.”
These appointments follow the recent round of promotions which saw six lawyers promoted to the partnership in Europe, the US and the Middle East, 20 promotions to partner in China, and the lateral recruitment in Hong Kong of two new partners, Peter Bullock and Anthony Wan, further strengthening the firm’s global offering.
