Finland ratifies the UPC

On 19 January 2016, Finland filed its ratification with the EU Council, taking its place as the ninth Member State to ratify the UPC Agreement.  Thirteen Member States must ratify the Agreement before it can take effect; those thirteen must include France, the UK and Germany.  As France has already ratified, interest is focussed on the position in the UK and Germany.  The UK Government recently published its position on the necessary changes that are required to UK patent law but news is still awaited on the timing of ratification.
