Michael Lu

Michael has over a decade of experience in cross-border capital market transactions, particularly issuance of various types of debt securities and liabilities management. He represents international investment banks and Hong Kong and Chinese mainland state-owned and private companies in the real estate, banking, automobile manufacturing and distribution, consumer goods and services, infrastructure, energy and mining sectors.

In recent years, Michael led the firm’s efforts in a numbers of significant and innovative bond offerings, including China General Nuclear Power Corporation’s offerings of multi-tranche USD/Euro denominated green bonds listed on HKSE and ISE which was named as “Deal of the Year” by FinanceAsia Awards in 2018 and Zhejiang Geely’s green bond offerings which was named Debt Deal of the Year by The Asia Legal Awards in 2016. He was shortlisted as the "Young Lawyer of the Year" by Asia Legal Business Hong Kong Awards in 2019.

From 2007 to 2014, Michael worked in the Wall Street law firm, Milbank LLP and Linklaters. He received his LL.M. degree from Boston University School of Law in 2007 and is admitted to practice in the State of New York, United States and registered as a Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong. He speaks native Mandarin and Cantonese and fluent English.
