Angus Sip is a Partner in the Banking & Finance group of King & Wood Mallesons in Hong Kong, where he specialises in structured finance and derivatives.
Angus advises issuers, arrangers, sell-side clients (including global, local and PRC-based financial institutions) and buy-side clients (including QDIIs/ RQDIIs, PRC-based banks, funds and state-owned enterprises) on the complete range of derivative products and asset classes. On the retail structured products front, he has acted for the most active issuers in the market on the establishment and update of HKEX-listed structured product programmes and SFC-authorised unlisted equity linked investment programmes, and the development of the “first-of-its-kind” products in the Hong Kong retail market (such as the HKEX-listed inline warrants most recently).
Angus has also advised PRC-based securities firms and asset managers on the establishment of unsecured structured note programmes and secured note repack programmes using off-balance sheet orphan structure, and the structuring of bespoke structured notes or repack transactions (such as structured notes issued in senior and junior tranches with different payouts).
Angus regularly advises both sell-side and buy-side clients on complex corporate derivatives matters and equity, rates, FX, commodity and credit derivatives documented under the ISDA framework. He also has experience in securities lending and borrowing and repo transactions documented under GMSLA and GMRA.
Angus is qualified in Hong Kong and England & Wales and speaks and writes English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
