King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has advised Silver Investment Partners (SIP) on the acquisition of it kompetenz Gesellschaft für innovative Informationstechnologie mbH (it kompetenz). SIP invested via its portfolio company ALVARA Holding GmbH (ALVARA Holding).
With the support of its majority shareholder SIP, ALVARA Holding has acquired it kompetenz, a provider of secure software systems in the field of cash logistics and distribution.
ALVARA Holding is a leading European provider of track & trace software solutions in the cash cycle. In addition to the newly acquired it kompetenz, the group includes the German cash logistics specialist ALVARA Cash Management Group AG, the French cash management software specialist SAFELOGY SAS as well as another French software provider (MLSA SAS, which has since merged with SAFELOGY). KWM also advised SIP on the acquisition of these three companies (for more information please refer to acquisitions of ALVARA Cash Management, SAFELOGY SAS/MLSA SAS).
it kompetenz was founded in Hamburg, Germany, in 1995 by the two current managing directors Matthias Schick and Thomas Vietze. Both will continue to be responsible for the operational business of the company and will become minority shareholders of ALVARA Holding. As part of the transaction, Thomas Vietze will be appointed as the second member of the ALVARA Cash Management Group AG's Management Board and Co-Managing Director of ALVARA Holding.
SIP continues to support the development of the group. Under the new ALVARA | Digital Solutions brand, the group, strengthened by it kompetenz, will be able to continue its strategic focus on innovative software solutions for all players in the cash cycle, strive for further growth and to achieve better market penetration.
