Crystal Zhao specializes in foreign investments, Chinese enterprise cross-border merger and acquisitions, securities and infrastructure.
Crystal has been involved in major projects including the restructuring of financial enterprises, H share IPOs and infrastructure. She has extensive experience advising on cross-border merger and acquisitions, private equity investment, corporate restructuring, issuing of bonds by financial institutions, restructuring, attracting investments, IPOs, infrastructure and construction. Her clients have included companies in banking, trust, futures, securities, funds, commercial real estate, water, environmental protection, pharmaceutical, retail and entertainment industries.
Crystal co-wrote the China chapter of ‘International Trade Securities Regulations’, a book published by the Oxford University Press for the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
Crystal serves as an arbitrator for the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission.
Work Experience
Crystal Zhao joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2004.
Crystal received her LL.B. in law from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and her LL.M. in international commercial law from University College London. She was selected to participate in a 2010 UK training program for young lawyers that was jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of Justice and the British Government, and spent one year training at the University of London, Lawrence Graham LLP and 3-4 South Square Chambers.
Crystal is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
