Ms. Alicia Zhang specializes in intellectual property transaction, corporate related cross business, foreign direct investment and M&A.
Ms. Zhang has in-depth study and extensive experience in intellectual property transaction practice. Her experience covers a wide variety of industries, including broadcasting rights licensing, entertainment and game related copyrights licensing, drug patent cross-border licensing, and more. Ms. Zhang is familiar with intellectual property transactions legal issues, such as licensing chain, licensing scope, rights protection, and commercialization among others. Ms. Zhang’s many years of professional experience has helped her to provide the best advice to her clients for their transactions.
Ms. Zhang has an in-depth understanding of different industry backgrounds and unique models of corporate governance of clients, which allows her to provide targeted solutions and help to implement legal requirements during the process of setting up, operating and liquidation. Ms. Zhang has advised both foreign and domestic clients in a number of high profile joint ventures and M&A projects in multiple industries, providing services from deal structuring, due diligence, transaction documents drafting and negotiation in closing and post-closing services.
In the field of sports, Ms. Zhang has served as the leading counsel for a number of landmark cross-border public bidding projects in relation to a set of famous matches’ broadcasting rights, e.g. Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, UEFA Champions League, etc. In the field of culture and entertainment, Mr. Zhang Yirui has represented many clients in many cross-border online video broadcasting cooperation projects, involving cooperation with Universal Television, Columbia Broadcasting and others.
Ms. Zhang was awarded as “Outstanding Young Lawyers in Changning District, Shanghai” for the period of Year 2013 to Year 2016.

Ms. Zhang gained her LL.B. and Bachelor of Science (computer science) from the East China University of Law and Politics. She received her LL.M. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Law School. Ms. Zhang is qualified as an attorney in the PRC and the State of New York.
Ms. Zhang is fluent in Chinese and English.
