Mr. Wang Jianping specializes in corporate matters, securities, finance, and international investment.

He has extensive experience in the reorganization and public listing of Chinese companies and has participated in numerous such cases on both domestic and foreign markets. Mr. Wang is also experienced in mergers and acquisitions, particularly acquisitions of Chinese companies by foreign investors. Mr. Wang regularly represents Chinese clients in negotiations of M&A and joint venture formation. Clients speak highly of his professionalism.

After joining King & Wood Mallesons, Mr. Wang has led or participated in many securities issuances and public listings(A-share/H-share/NASDAQ), involving companies such as China Life, Yanzhou Coal Mining, PetroChina, Fufeng Group, Sina, Changlong(Hong Kong), Ko Yo Chemical Group, Luoxin Pharmacy(Hong Kong GEM Board), Shenhua Energy, Bank of Beijing, Zhonghang Optoelectronic, and Wuliangye Group, South Huitong, Shandong Jiangquan, Unisplendour Corporation, Sinosoft, Sichuan Top Changzheng Software, Sichuan Tuopai, Tongwei Group, Qingsong Jianhua, Xinjiang Dushanzi TianLi High&NewTech, EMei Tourism Company, China CNR, Sichuan Kelun Pharmaceutical, CHINT Group, Henan Chuying Agro-Pastoral, Guangdong YGSOFT, Shandong Zhonglu Oceanic Fisheries etc. He also participated in the acquisition of Livzon Pharmacy by China Everbright Goup; the establishment of China Mobile; and the reorganization and restructuring of CPIC. Mr. Wang has had a number of articles and essays published in well-known Chinese and foreign newspapers and journals.

Work experience

Mr. Wang Jianping joined King & Wood Mallesons in 1998. He is a partner of Securities Group as well as a member of the firm’s management committee. Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons, Mr. Wang worked with the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress. He participated in drafting and reviewing legislation for the Grassland Law, the Fisheries Law, the Bankruptcy Law, the Law of Chinese-foreign Cooperative Joint Ventures, and the Customs Law. From August, 2009 to August, 2011, Mr. Wang was a full time committee member of the first and second Public Offering Review Committee of the GEB at China Securities Regulatory Commission.

He received his LL.B. from the Law School of Peking University, his LL.M. from Harvard Law School, and his J.D. from the Law School of Washington University in St. Louis. He was admitted to the state bar of Missouri in 1991. He practiced in St. Louis, Missouri from 1991 to 1997. Mr. Wang was admitted as Chinese lawyer in 1998.

Mr. Wang has had a number of articles and essays published in well-known Chinese and foreign newspapers and journals.

His working languages are Chinese and English.
