Ms. Liu Zhizhi specializes in international construction projects and construction related investment, international technology and trade and civil and commercial dispute resolution.
Ms. Liu Zhizhi is familiar with various business processes of international construction, and construction related investment and international technology and trade and has a deep understanding of FIDIC contract conditions, standard bidding documents for procurement of goods and engineering construction contract conditions from World Bank and Asia Development Bank and other widely used international construction and engineering contract forms. She has substantial experience in drafting, review and negotiation of international construction contracts and imports and exports of major equipment contracts. She handles the designing, goods procurement, engineering and construction, operation and investment of projects in Europe, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa, covering railway, locomotive, mining, power and other infrastructure sectors.
She has participated in many international projects such as Pakistan PV power plant project, Bangladesh PV power plant project, Pakistan hydro power project, Russian hydropower project, Pakistan DC transmission project, Pakistan wind Power Project, Pakistan headquarter building project, Southeast Asia cross-border railway project, Bolivian railway project, Mozambique integrated coal mining and power generation project, Russian agricultural project, a Chinese SOE’s establishment of a Russian subsidiary, Montenegro wind power project, Vietnam power plant project, Southeast Asia oil pipeline claims and Suriname public housing projects.
Ms. Liu also has extensive experience in international technology transfer and has participated in the Ministry of Railways’ projects of introducing high-speed railway and bullet train technologies. In 2012, Ms. Liu delivered a speech entitled the Key Issues and Trends of Technology License at a seminar organized by ICC China IP Committee.
Ms. Liu Zhizhi joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2013. Prior to that, she had successively served as in-house counsel and executive counsel at a leading Chinese SOE on the ENR Top 250 International Contractors list.
She obtained her B.A. and Master of Law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law. She also acquired a B.A. in English from a dual-degree program in Sichuan International Studies University.
Her working languages are Chinese and English.
