Mr. Li Xinyu specializes in commercial litigation and arbitration, with extensive experience in the areas of general corporate, PE investment and joint venture disputes, product liability and international arbitration.
Mr. Li has extensive practical experience in handling complex cross-border commercial disputes. He has represented both domestic and foreign clients in numerous cross-border arbitration and litigation cases before arbitral tribunals and foreign courts, including cases at China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC), the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration (ICC) and other major arbitration institutions, as well as lawsuits before courts of Singapore, the United States and other countries. The cases that Mr. Li handles cover a wide range of areas, including Private Equity, merger & acquisition, sale of international goods, construction, technology transfer and leasing, financial leasing and PPP projects.
Mr. Li has also represented clients in a large number of commercial litigation cases before domestic courts at various levels in the PRC. Mr. Li is particularly skilled at dealing with corporate disputes arising from corporate governance or operations, including disputes relating to capital contribution, equity ownership, equity transfer, corporate resolution, shareholder derivative actions, profit distribution, corporate dissolution and liquidation, corporate control and breach of directors’ / senior management’s fiduciary duties.
Mr. Li is also experienced in the area of product liability, as he has been providing a range of non-contentious, advisory and contentious legal services to many multinational companies in respect of regulatory compliance, administrative investigation, product recalls, crisis management and product liability dispute resolution.
Mr. Li Xinyu joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2010.
Mr. Li obtained his LLB and LLM from Southwest University of Political Science & Law in the PRC, and obtained a second LLM from Temple University in the United States.
Mr. Li’s working languages are Chinese and English.
