Ms. Guo mainly specializes in the areas of corporate M&A and liquidation, foreign investment, import & export supervision with a focus on customs and foreign exchange management, compliance of labor, etc.
With over 10 years of experience in foreign-related legal services, Ms. Guo has handled hundreds of projects in relation to M&A, corporate restructuring and liquidation, which helped many foreign enterprises handle their China-focused investment, technology transfer and financing projects. As a main member of the legal counsel team for dozens of Fortune 500 companies, large foreign and domestic enterprises, institutions and organizations, Ms. Guo provides consultancy services regarding their investment, trade, the overall design of various cooperating affairs, daily operation and dispute resolution, etc. She especially focuses on industries of automobile & parts, infrastructure & construction machinery, medical & chemical industries, environment, modern services and commercial retail, etc.
As the principal leader lawyer in Southwest China, Ms. Guo has participated in numerous large cases handled by our “customs, foreign exchange and trade compliance” team. These cases cover various fields such as import & export dutiable value and customs valuation, import & export commodity classification, tax reduction or exemption of the goods, foreign exchange on the trade of goods and services under the current account and foreign exchange regulation with respect to the investment and cross-border remittance under the capital account. In addition, Ms. Guo also accumulated rich experience in settlement of regular out-bursting disputes between enterprises and the administrative organs of customs/foreign exchange management , the related administrative penalty, as well as responses to complex issues such as smuggling-related cases.
Ms. Guo also provides related legal services in fields of labor compliance, including but not limited to the establishment of labor management system and settlement of group labor disputes such as large-scale layoffs.
Ms. Guo joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2008.
Ms. Guo received her LL.B. from Southwest China University of Political Science & Law and Bachelor’s Degree in Japanese Literature from Sichuan International Studies University.
Ms. Guo’s working languages are Chinese and Japanese.
