Ms. Gui Hongxia specializes in litigation and arbitration, with extensive experience in intellectual property litigation and disputes over investment, financing and general commercial issues. Her representative clients include multinational corporations, large state-owned enterprises, private enterprises and others.
Ms. Gui has over 19 years of practice experience in dispute resolution. In intellectual property litigation, Ms. Gui has litigated various types of cases including infringement of copyright, trade secret, patent, trademark, and unfair competition. In terms of copyright cases, she puts emphasis on disputes over software copyright infringement and online game intellectual property. In investment and financing, Ms. Gui has dealt with a variety of disputes involving investors, actual controllers, and/or executives, such as disputes over equity and ownership, company control, derivative actions, major breach of investment agreements, and liabilities of executives. Ms. Gui is also an expert in negotiations, and her representative cases include many complex disputes ending up with successful settlements.
Ms. Gui has extensive experience in intellectual property transactions and has been involved in contract drafting and negotiations for dozens of major transactions, covering licensing and transfer of, and investments driven by know-how, patented technology, software copyright, and trademark.
Ms. Gui joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2001.
She obtained her LL.B. from Nanchang University and LL.M. from the University of International Business and Economics. Her second LL.M. was received from Berkeley Law at the University of California. Ms. Gui was admitted as a PRC lawyer in 2001.
Ms. Gui’s working languages are Chinese and English.
Ms. Gui is a member of the Trade Secret Protection Committee of the China International Association for Promotion of Science and Technology.
