Ms. Jessica Fei specializes in cross-border dispute resolution, arbitration and litigation practice.

Jessica is a widely recognised leading international arbitration and dispute resolution practitioner. Her practice focuses on large-scale international arbitration, cross-border litigation and disputes avoidance matters in China, Asia, Europe and the US, for clients including Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs), multinationals and major regional corporates. Jessica has extensive experience in  handling complex cross-border dispute cases.  Jessica is one of the very few leading  international dispute resolution practitioners in China who can effectively handle cases in both English and Chinese languages, and has significant international background and experience as well as deep understanding of the Chinese corporate culture and law.

Jessica handles disputes relating to energy (oil & gas, power etc), infrastructure and construction, trade (international sale of goods), cross-border investment (e.g. Sino-foreign joint venture disputes), manufacturing, distribution, and intellectual property matters among others. She represents and assists clients in international arbitrations (including ICC, CIETAC, HKIAC, SIAC, SCC, LCIA, AAA/ICDR, BAC and UNCITRAL) and litigation matters inside and outside China in both English and Chinese languages. She is particularly experienced in representing Chinese SOE clients in their overseas disputes and foreign clients in their China-related arbitrations.   

Jessica has published many articles on China related dispute resolution and is a frequent speaker on topics related to international arbitration. Further Ms. Fei has been ranked and recognized as one of China's leading international arbitration practitioners in the field of Disputes by authoritative international legal rating media, including Chambers, Who’s Who Legal, Legal 500 and Asian Legal Business (ALB) etc.

Working Experience

Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons, Jessica was a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP Beijing Office for a number of years.  She has close to 25 years' experience working with international arbitration institutions and leading firms in New York and Asia. Jessica sits regularly as arbitrator in commercial arbitration cases.  She is listed on the international arbitrator panels of the ICDR,CIETAC, SIAC, HKIAC,  AIAC, CEAC (Chinese European Arbitration Centre, Germany), CRCICA (The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration), KCAB, JCAA, THAC, Shanghai Arbitration Commission, Wuhan Arbitration Commission and Xiamen Arbitration Commission etc.  Jessica is is a court member of SIAC , a member of the International Advisory Committee of the AAA/ICDR, a member of the CEAC Advisory Board,  Vice President of the UIA Litigation Committee and China Chapter Chair of NYSBA (New York State Bar Association) International Section. 

Ms. Fei is qualified in the PRC and New York State.

Jessica’s working languages are Chinese and English, and she is proficient in French.
